DAR PEOPLE / PRIVACY

Your information.
Handled with care.

This policy explains how Dar People collects, uses, shares and protects personal information across our website, events and DarTix ticketing services.

Effective 29 September 2026

Dar People is the community and event brand. DarTix is our ticketing layer: DarTix — Ticketing by Dar People. This policy applies when you use darpeople.com, tickets.darpeople.com, our ticketing and customer-access pages, or contact us through the website.

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy describes the personal information handled by Dar People in connection with our website, events, customer support, complimentary access and DarTix services. Third-party services may also process information under their own privacy terms when you use them.

02

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, and phone or WhatsApp number.
  • Orders and tickets: event, ticket type, quantity, order number, ticket code, price, currency, order status and related ticket information.
  • Payment information: payment status, provider, transaction or request references and information needed to reconcile a payment with an order.
  • Customer access: the email used for one-time-code authentication and information needed to maintain a secure customer session.
  • Event attendance: ticket eligibility, entry-validity status, validation or scanning results, and information used to prevent duplicate admission.
  • Complimentary access: approved email, allocation type, claim status and information needed to issue and manage a complimentary ticket.
  • Enquiries: information submitted through the Contact page, including enquiry type, message and any order information you choose to provide.
  • Preferences: whether you choose to receive Dar People news and event updates.

Information generated when you use our services

Our website and service providers may generate technical and security information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, page requests, session identifiers, error records and security logs. We use this information to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.

03

How We Use Information

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to:

  • display events and available ticket options;
  • create and manage ticket reservations and orders;
  • initiate, confirm and reconcile payments;
  • issue, update and display digital tickets;
  • authenticate customers and provide secure My Tickets access;
  • manage approved complimentary access and prevent duplicate claims;
  • validate tickets at an event and prevent duplicate or fraudulent entry;
  • answer support requests and contact-form enquiries;
  • maintain service security, reliability and records;
  • meet operational, accounting, legal and regulatory requirements; and
  • send news or marketing where you have opted in, or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
04

Payments

Mobile Money is the current live payment method for DarTix. ClickPesa processes Mobile Money payment requests and works with the relevant mobile network or payment provider. Dar People receives and stores information needed to connect a payment result to an order, such as payment status and transaction, request or provider references.

Dar People does not need, request or store your Mobile Money PIN. Enter a PIN only in the secure prompt provided by your Mobile Money provider.

Card payments are currently Coming Soon. Dar People does not currently process or store customer card numbers through DarTix. If card payments are introduced, this policy and the relevant payment information will be updated before that method is presented as live.

05

Authentication & Digital Tickets

My Tickets uses the email connected to your DarTix order or approved complimentary allocation. A six-digit one-time code is sent to that email so the system can verify access. The authenticated session is then used to retrieve only tickets associated with that customer.

Digital ticket codes or QR credentials may be updated before entry for security and duplicate-prevention purposes. Ticket validation information may be recorded when gate staff check a ticket. Once a ticket has been successfully scanned, it cannot be used for another admission.

A private complimentary link alone does not grant a ticket. DarTix verifies the authenticated email against the approved allocation before a complimentary ticket can be claimed.

06

Cookies & Technical Data

Dar People, Squarespace and Supabase may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies that are necessary to deliver pages, maintain secure authentication, remember a customer session, protect forms and ticketing functions, and understand or resolve technical problems.

You can control cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent features such as OTP sessions, My Tickets or checkout state from working correctly.

07

Service Providers

We use service providers to run parts of the Dar People and DarTix experience. Current categories include:

  • Squarespace for the website layer and page delivery;
  • Supabase for backend, database and authentication infrastructure; and
  • ClickPesa for Mobile Money payment processing.

These providers process information to deliver their services to us and may maintain their own security, operational and legal records. Where information is processed outside Tanzania, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable requirements.

08

Data Sharing

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with:

  • the service providers described above;
  • event organisers, venues and authorised gate or event personnel where needed to operate an event or validate entry;
  • professional advisers or contractors who support Dar People and are expected to protect confidential information; and
  • courts, regulators, law enforcement or other parties where disclosure is required by law, needed to protect rights or safety, or necessary to investigate fraud or misuse.

Dar People does not sell personal information.

09

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. These include controlled access, authenticated customer sessions, server-side ownership checks, restricted privileged credentials, ticket validation controls and service monitoring.

No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep OTP codes private, use the latest ticket shown in My Tickets and contact us if you believe your account, email or ticket information has been misused.

10

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and for applicable operational, accounting, legal, dispute-resolution and security requirements. Different records may be kept for different periods depending on their purpose.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we will delete it, anonymise it, or securely limit its use where deletion is not immediately possible.

11

Your Choices & Rights

Subject to applicable law and any necessary identity verification, you may ask us to explain whether we hold your personal information, provide access, correct inaccurate information, delete information that is no longer required, restrict or object to certain processing, or address a concern about how your information has been handled.

You may withdraw a news or marketing opt-in at any time by using an unsubscribe method provided with the communication, where available, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and does not prevent service messages needed for an order, ticket, payment, security or event entry.

Some requests may be limited where we need information to complete a transaction, protect another person, prevent fraud, preserve legal claims, or meet accounting, security or other legal obligations. You may also raise a concern with the relevant data-protection authority where applicable.

12

Children & Age Requirements

Ticket purchases and other transactions should be completed by a person legally able to enter into the transaction. Event-specific age restrictions may also apply and will take priority for entry. Where parental or guardian authorisation is required, a parent or guardian should provide the necessary information and act for the young person.

If you believe a child’s personal information has been provided without the required permission, contact us so we can review the situation.

13

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or another appropriate channel.

14

Contact

For a privacy question, request or concern, contact Dar People and include enough information for us to understand and verify your request. Please do not send a Mobile Money PIN, OTP code or other sensitive credential.
